Minas Tirith | Mount Cook National Park

This is the approximate viewpoint of the scene where Faramir and his riders leave Minas Tirith on a doomed mission to recapture Osgiliath. This photo was taken near the Tasman Glacier viewpoint, from ground level. The mountain range was used as the backdrop of Minas Tirith (left side). The ground level with the riders was filmed near Twizel.
